The holiday season is a time when most people think about
helping others. Unfortunately, it’s also a time when criminals focus on helping
themselves to your property. Stop by Greenspoint Mall on Friday, November 25,
for an auto safety check that might just keep your car from being a thief’s
holiday gift.

Development is a sign of progress and growth. But when the
development comes in the form of roadway projects, commuters want to know what
areas are under construction and how long they need to stay away from them. If
you are looking forward to the departure of orange construction barrels from
Greens Road, there is bittersweet news.

Earlier this year when the Greater Greenspoint District
learned that the Houston Police Department would be losing more than 700
officers citywide due to retirement, the District approached police Chief Harold
Hurtt to develop a program to make sure Greenspoint’s public safety would not
suffer. Starting this month, the District is partnering with “the boys and girls
in blue” on an innovative program aimed at continuing crime reduction in the
Greenspoint community.
