Parents can begin filling
their kids’ summer schedules with exciting recreational activities at Wussow
Park, 500 Greens Road. The Aldine-Greenspoint YMCA is hosting activities
that are open to the public and aim to build a lifetime of fitness and
values. Classes are held monthly and include:
Soccer (ages 4-17 and adults 18 and over)
- Gymnastics (ages 5-17)
- Martial Arts (ages 5-17)
Additionally, Wussow Park provides employees with a
chance to enjoy the great outdoors. The park’s amenities are conducive to
summer workouts with meandering jogging trails, a ball field, sand volleyball
courts and a water sprayground. The 11-acre park’s scenic backdrop is the
perfect addition to a quick morning run before work or an afternoon cool down
for the kids. For a more intimate setting, CityView Park, located at 16822
CityView Place and also open to the public, is home to lush landscaping that
surrounds a pavilion and sitting trellis, great for special events or quiet
relaxation.
May 2007 marks five
years since the parks’ grand opening in Greenspoint. Wussow Park is
the namesake of the Greater Greenspoint District’s founder, Thomas R.
Wussow.
