Marcia Tuck
was recently named senior planner for the Greater Greenspoint District.
Tuck is responsible for managing the District’s beautification programs, park
operations at Wussow and CityView parks, and an open space master plan for
Greenspoint. Other key areas of responsibility include the identification
of recreational opportunities along the Greens Bayou corridor and the
coordination of activities between public agencies and property owners.
Tuck reports to Bart Baker, director of planning and
infrastructure.
“Marcia has
been with the District for three years, with a total of five years in the
planning field,” Baker said. “Her experience with parks, natural resources
and open space issues is helping us plan for future
development.”
Tuck says her knowledge of public policy
enhances the planning projects that move the District toward achieving
goals. “The District has allowed me the opportunity to apply my prior
experience to development projects and issues in the area,” said Tuck.
“One of my main goals as senior planner is to continue progress with the Harris
County Flood Control District on creating a 165-acre multi-use recreational
facility that would not only reduce flooding, but provide a much-needed place
for sports activities in the community,” she added.
Tuck was hired as a planning technician
in 2004.
